The truth about Dogs (2)

Saturday, September 05, 2009 by , under , , ,

This post will be a reply to lovely PP, while enabeling me to show of the gorgeouse pixies of my dogs (both sadly enough gone now) and to explain the whole stinky, drooly, dirty part of beeing a dog owner. PP (Peoples Photographer, not wee or urin.. simply a shortent version of his bloggy name, since his name is his to share) has the really rather sweet missconception that any dog of mine would be farting rosescented potpuri while beeing demure enough to keep their faces out of their own bums.

Yeah.. no.. sorry.. Mine were just as bad, if not worse then every other dog on this planet. Allthough a lot better behaved (i'm not only a bit bithy.. I'm alpha bitchy too :)

Hades, the German Shepherd / Boarder mix. Weighed in at 55 kg's, ate like a horse and molted a small dogs bodyweight in furr every day for a couple of weeks every spring and fall. He also had the charming ability of all German Shepherds to accumulate moisture. Meaning he would smell quite .. uhm.. musky. This of course beeing a joy to us since we spent quite some time camping with this monster in the same tent. And as good as he was at keeping moose, beavers and assorted drunk youngsters away from the tent he also keept us out most of the time as well (Sweden is quite the rain forest anytime I had vacation)

At the end, (he died a couple of days short of his 13th b-day) he could knock you out with the foulest breath ever to come out of a living animal. Possibly comodo dragons got worse problems with halitosis, but I'm not betting for it.

Now this gorgeouse boy, who was Nozem, was as you can see, a very stately bloodhound, pure breed and with several of his kin appearing more then once in his family trees (not a good thing) sadly never got passed his 2nd birthday. He suffered Bloat, which is a problem with their bowels turning and locking themselves up.

One thing though that we were told by the breeder when deciding on a puppy (instead of how I did it with Hades, which was pick him out of the arms of my neighbour after roughhousig in the playground with him and his brothers and sisters) was that bloodhounds did not fart.

Yeah..

and there's a santa claus!

This dog could empty a room in 0.4 seconds. And he'd actually look suprised at the noise his but would make. He also managed to get drool stalakites (stalagmites? which one are the up's and which ones are the downwards ones? ) hanging from the 4.5 meter ceeling in the apartment. And never quite got over his happy-peeing before he died. (the usual way we would deal with this would be for me to call when I got home from Uni or work, so that my ex could simply open the door so that he would run down the stairwell and meet me on the side walk.. it atleast saved some of the carpets and we'd go for a walk.. but my shoes would sometimes be hit by friendly fire)

Also bloodhounds tend to have some of that very old dog smell right of the bat. they dont need to age very long (passed puppyhood and on it goes. their like human teenage boys - they dont smell of roses either when hormones are starting to kick in for the first time and make a hash of it)

anyway.. no.. its not a clean game when having dogs. once you've got a dog, your stuck with a wardrobe covered in a matting hair that makes you look a bit fuzzy around the edges. With some of the breeds (bloodhound beeing one of them) you have the saliva strands covering you like an oldfashioned handmade chockolate bon-bon.. specially if they shake themself off while your in the room.. and with just about all of them you get the musty dog smell haunting the house, and that only gets worse when they get older.

A lot worse.

But then again, despite the unholy hour you have to get up to walk them if your doing an office job (I used to leave Hades over for pampering with my parents when I worked full time, meaning he was walked and spoiled rotten while I was slaving away.. man i wanna be a dog next life) And despite the amount of cleaning you have to do to keep yourself from drowning in drool/lost pelt/ or the discusting things you have to do with medicin and ointments when they get sick, they make it all worth while.

Nozem had the interesting notion of having to kiss my feet (if he did not find them he'd try to rip the bed appart untill he got to nibble on my toes) and then come up for a ear rub before going to bed on his pillow. Hades would have a sing along while gnawing on my jawbone everytime I came thru the door.. even if i'd just been down with the garbage and gone for all of a minute.

None of them would waver from your side if you got into trouble and they would both love you no matter how big of a pain you are (and I'm quite a big one at times)

So yeah, their a pain, dependent on you for everything, their dirty as hell. They smell.. they're hard work and you end up with your heart broken when they do die.

But i'll have another 10 atleast before i kick the bucket myself (i hope)

oh and heres a picture of nozem as a puppy.. you tell me you'd be able to say no to this one :P

(ha ha, check out those paws... he was a bit over 60 kg's when he died, so those lion paws were not just for show :)

PS: oh yeah.. by the way PP, my dogs did not eat pooo.. I draw the line with my puppy raising and indulgence when it comes to eating poo and groin sniffing. Gotta set a standard right? :)

Reality SUX! (3)

Thursday, August 20, 2009 by , under , ,

Lets face it. I'm having a very real and very painful bout of vacation-blues.
Trying to keep my head together, trying to get the work done but aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwww..
I wanna go baaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!
Anyway. The sun is beating down on our heads (Through the window.. pushing all the heat back into the apartment) .
Oh and I found out, after living here for over 6 months, that the garden is communal....
Meaning: we can go down and enjoy it when we want to!
Hell... The crafty little munchkins at the real estate agent forgot to tell us that.
So now I just have to find the corridor that leads back there.
Hmm... and of course share it with mad-man-clapper (every time he gets angry or agitated he claps his hands.. usually outside our front door.. ) that lives next door. Last time we saw him he was in his birthday suit sitting on a folding chair down on the very same grass that i covet..
It does make for a bit of a deterrent when you've got a buck naked, not all that stable, middle aged man running around in the supposedly shared garden.
Life might be a pain, but it's seldom boring.. that's a consolation right?

lacking a poker face (3)

Wednesday, July 29, 2009 by , under , , , , ,

Working again (as always) sitting with my puppy cup, Loves moving-in-gift to me when we got the first apartment. Since we're not alowed any pets untill we buy our own place I'll be petting porceline for the forseeable future.

Currently Love is hunting one of the biggest buggs i've ever seen outside the discovery chanel.. Some kind of horse fly.. Love is bravely waving the mop around to try to reach the celing (5.5 meters up... high celing.. )

My hero!

Today he cruly pointed out that I have no poker face.

This after me having to run back up the stairs to get my hoodie (yeah.. i'm bad... ) with his keys in my hand (Love is also the keeper of stuff.. since he's usually equiped with pockets and me beeing horribly inept of ever getting my handbags out.. ) he shouts out for me to not forget the keys inside, since we then would not be able to get back into the house again.

As he says it he sees the start of the snicker thats passing over my face as I plot the master mind plan of pretending to have forgotten the keys, while keeping them out of side in my bra or some other amazing hiding place.

yeah..

he spotted it.

I blame my mother, as any person would.

She could always spot me or my brothers lying, meaning there was never any reason to since we'd be hung out to dry faster then you can say "guilty". So I'm now horribly inept at it.

takes the fun out of any prank, suprise or present since I can never put a lid on it. When love is getting suprise gifts I tend to jump around on the spot, looking very much like an overexcited golden retriver puppy with a bladder problem, not beeing able to wait to hand it over. (yeah.. chrismas comes many times before the actual date in our house... I envy the people that can buy something and then keep it hidden for months.. amazing.. )

Found this picture at the back of a folder. Its from the weeks or so into the now four years we've been bugging eachother. Cookie took it while we were having a balcony (I think home made shushi, I'm pretty flipping good at the rice-rolling and fish flapping) dinner with her and Rille.

Damned.. Look at that blond hair...

Love got a good incling of what was ahead after me changin my hair colour to almost purple within the first 2 weeks, rearranging the furniture within another couple of days and.. And he still offered me a tootbrush as well as my own drawer... Even after meeting my family.

Anyway, more about that some other time. As all other love sick bumble-bees out there I can go on about Love for hours. I'm gonna go give him a razzberry ontop of that gorgeouse dome of his (a sing of affection, truly) and fill puppy mugg up again, more coffe and then some more hours of getting the product shots up and running.

oh.. its 3 am.. frick..

oh well, early morning night tonight again.

Night time thinking 1

Monday, July 27, 2009 by , under , , ,

while I should be working..

Doing the finishing touches to the product photography we did, sipping my bastardised cocoa (mixed with coffe and extra milk.. it probably has fancy name over at Starbucks, here its known as "jum-jum i've got love in my tum-tum") and trying to get my mojo back on.

Its been hiding away in, trying on a new life possibly, where it won't be so abused and overused.

Need a vacation.

But hey, as they say.

whats meant for ye wont go by ye .. Right now drawing a blank as to what book I read it in..

Crap..

need to go to the library and return stuff.

Tomorrow.

Need to tie string of rememberance today.

Need to get back to work too.
enough of the dilly-daddeling!

upp upp and aaaawayyy..

-----------------

oh, I've now officially turned into my mother.

My lovely Cookie is off in Japan studying and beeing all fab as only she can, and now her and her lovely partner in crime is braving a tour-de-japan on scooters.

First thing I worry about is her having a helmet, glow in the dark vest and possibly one of those long poles with a flagg on that kids have on their bikes so that they wont be invisible in traffic..

see?

I'm my mother.

Oh well..

Could be so much worse.

My mum is cool.

One of her favourite sayings:

"No raven ever hatched an eagle"

Meaning no kid should ever complain about their parents since it will get back and bite them propperly on the bum.

Oh well, good thing my mums a dragon, feathers freak me out.

Did i digress?

Hmm...

I miss my producers, thats all.
that's them by the way, Father figure and all knowing mother. On a buss in London.
They still make out after 32 years. In theory its great, for us kids. Less so.
So if you have any complaints about this product, please direct your questions directly to them :D

BACK TO WORK!!!

Dan-Dan is a Dumb-Dumb.. (0)

Saturday, June 27, 2009 by , under , , , ,

... and possibly a knob, as they say here in England. We took the morning walk thru Helens Garden, picked up a sandwitch at the cafe (where the lady behind the counter pilfhered my boyfriend to take behind the counter.. only to plugg in a boiler that she could not reach the socket off, granted, but still. Good start to the morning! I love cheeky old ladies) and then I found that our favourite bench at Little Wormwood Scrubs has been molested by Dan-Dan.. Or as he will from now on be know: Dumb-Dumb.. Hey, if the doodie-head had atleast made an effort of making it look good, I would not have complained, but this is just shit to be honest. My unborn nefew/niece can do better!

Oh and I spent last night (from 4 pm to around 12) with Casper and Nanna, trying to keep our table to ourselves and ppl's elbows out of our ears, enjoying pints and points by staying in one place for basically 7 hours. I've got the rivet marks on my bum to proove it too! Was lovely to see them again, and common, is this not the most gorgeouse couple you've ever seen. And I got
to work on my dutch! Seems I rememberd more than I thought I would. Hell, I even managed to scrap a couple of sentences together without them going "huh?". I was proud as punch (and just about as high on alcohol) . They then went on to Shoreditch for dancing. Me, I woosed out and went home to crawl into bed, because lets face it... I'm to old. Buggerit, I could barely keep awake on the bussride home. Dancing would be so far passed me it would be pathetic.

Fulham... home sweet home (2)

Thursday, June 25, 2009 by , under , ,

We've been out doing footwork this morning, this time in Fulham. What used to be our "home-sweet-home".. and we miss it!

And in two weeks its the "fair on the green" and we are sooo there. We missed it last year since we had just signed the papers for the apartment on New Kings Rd, but on our way from Camden (where we were living in the smallest hotell room known to man) we we're sucked into the Pride Parade...
managed to turn a corner and end up with gorgeouse men in full beards and netstockings and a full wonderwoman atire streched over a well honed beer belly, I fell in love on the spot! (I've got the pictures somewhere, need to find them.. ) . I love london.. Seriously... No where else do you end up cuddled by dragqueens when trying to get across town :)
Fulham is home though. Ladbroke Grove, where we live now is nice... but New Kings Rd is .. heaven *dribbles a bit and sheads a tear*
And ofcourse we miss our Curry..
Theres a small little whole-in-the-wall chinese restaurant, they dont even put out tables, its all take-away and home delivery. And they make the best Curry and pork dumplings in London. I kidd you not!
The name of it is Aurelia, and their on wandsworth Bridge Rd... and we go to sleep every night crying our eyes out because we're now living to far away to get home-delivery.
We've actually vowed to make sure that we live within their "driving range" next time we move house, their that good...

blessed clover oil and a good nagg (0)

Wednesday, June 24, 2009 by , under , , ,

He's up for sainthood pretty soon. We spent the morning going thru the reasons why I should go to the dentist (I hate them.. seriously, i fear very little, but they are definately on the top 2 list.. ) and he's sweet enough to put a pillow between me and the wall when I try to thump myself into oblivion because of the face pain (its way beyond toothache.. its great to have colds)

And ontop of that hes sutch a hunk-a-hunk-of-burning-love. Grrrr.. I mean, common, look at those dimples!!

I'm sorry, I digress. We also went to the lovely pharmacy down ladbroke grove. Got into a lovely talk with the family that runs it. The Alfpha Female (im thinking she's the mom of the family) has the most gloriouse and softly rolling rrrr's ever and speaks with a beutiful Indian accent. She also wears one of those beutifull saris with more colours than a test picture on the tv and I definately got a bit of a crush on her, or rather I'd love to be indian middle aged woman with flaying arms, rolling rrrrr's and a definate gravitas than a 30 something whitebread troll with a toothache. Anyway, we had a moan about prices ( I told them what it costs in Sweden, and as always, that takes home the baccon.. Sweden is a bit pricey..) and as always. A good moan bonds like nothing else in this country.

Anyway, besides the codine paracetamol (good stuff apparently, but I'm not on it yet.. I hate pills..) the nice lady gave me something called Clover Oil.. and it works! dont even need the pills basically. I'm still going to the dentist (there will be no blogg that day most probably.. I'll be shaking to much) but this will atleast keep me a little closer to sanity, or whats left of it.

Anyway again, back to work again. hope your all fine. Gimme some good news to quelsh the terror of looking down the week and seeing a dentist at the end.

oh oh oh oh, almost forgot to say: I found my best friend from when i studied in Holland, Casper (the very friendly ghost) after 7 years of silence. Google is amazing. Him and his GF are in Wales (dragons be there) and their comming to London for a weekend, so we're meeting up for a beer and trying to put 7 years of gossip into one friday evening. Soooo looking forward to it! gonna have to have the teeth fixed before that though, dont want to be dribbling and getting knocked out after one beer.. just not done (I've got an old and heavy rep to protect)

And the really weird thing: Casper has aquired a teaching possition at the school of business in Wales (that is not the weird part). So now, instead of the same twangy americano/canadian mix accent that I sport after too many hours infront of the TV as a kid, he speaks english.. or a mix of queens and welsh, giving me a bit of a shocker there actually. Amazing how a persons voice and dialect is sutch a big part how you remember a person. I barely recognized him over the phone. Almost got me toungetied, and that is a condition I do NOT find myself in very often... and not a condition I really enjoy either. But oh well, I'll get used to it on friday I guess!

Filter free (0)

Monday, May 04, 2009 by , under , , , ,

So I'm doing it again. I'm braking up with my most favourite passtime. Smoking. Meaning I'm barely able to form comprehencive sentances, i've got the fues of a menopausal elefanth and will probably stand trial for manslaughter of the next idiot that walk pass me with a lit ciggie.
Thats what I hate most about stopping smoking, I tend to sniff ppl as they walk by, specially if their smoking (and even if they arnt, hey, you never know, they might have walked pass a smoker on their way there.. LOGIC!)
anyway, so here we are again.
I really wish I could be the kind that is able to just smoke part time. Hmm..
but alas, no. I start again, and before you know it I'm back to a pack a day. All or noghting - cracking nuckles - and thats just the way it is. Oh well. The pain has to stop at some point right?
or atleast untill i start smoking again. Now thats a happy thought!
